Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For evil fears me...
World of What?
Holla. As you undoubtedly know, I left the e-world [of warcraft] awhile back. Shortly after my departure, the guild known as Reckless Abandon dissolved.
If you wish to get in contact with any former RA people, then you might try sending them a PM through the forums here or by checking out Noah's forum: Apparently a few of the old RA members still keep in touch and play online games with each other at another forum that Noah/Pwnanza/Lemming hosts. You can get to the forum »HERE«.

RecklessAbandon.org back up and running!
The transfer of RecklessAbandon.org to our new host juuuuuuust completed. For those of you that wondered where everyone had gone, we've been here the whole time, just at a temporary domain (ra.dreamhosters.com), turds! Alas, that's old news now as we are back home in our old domain and ready to rock and roll.
I guess while I'm here I should do a quick guild update... Wellllll, we've picked up some top notch players recently and have begun work on Kael. There isn't much to complain about these days. We're all eager to get over the Kael hurdle so that we can go die on Mount Hyjal and in the Black Temple. Don't get me wrong: the Kael fight is fun stuff. He's just such a cock tease, and no one likes spending too much time with a cock tease. He'll die soon enough. KIMOSALAWAPUNTAQ!!

HQ Video: RA vs Leotheras the Blind
You might ask yourself, "An RA Leotheras video? What's so special about that? RA has been killing him for over two months now..." Well, let me tell you! It's so special because last night we had two firsts in the Leotheras encounter.
First of the firsts: It was our first time actually be able to use a warlock tank in the demon phase, which made the fight much more pleasant. A warlock's (Silaries) TPS in the demon phase is about 400% of what our usual warrior/druid demon tank TPS was, allowing DPS to open up much sooner and pretty much trivializing the encounter.
Second of the firsts: It was my first real time having to bring my nub priest to a 25-man encounter since like February or something. The healing thing and inner demon smiting thing was surprisingly fun, but I think I'll stick to my durid haha.
I thought these two things were exciting and worth Fraps'ing just for kicks. As usual the video is full screen, high quality, and encoded with WMV9, and you can grab it HERE!

Lady Vashj down, SSC cleared!
It took us a bit longer than we'd have liked (we've had to spend the last 3 weeks restructuring the guild, etc) to take down the old Coilfang Matron, Lady Vashj, but that did not diminish the sense of satisfaction all of us felt last night when we saw her die. Man, what a great feeling.
Vashj's death on our second full night of attempts puts us at 6/6 SSC and 3/4 TK25. Kael'Thas is now all that stands between us and Hyjal and beyond, and we're all eagerly awaiting our first engagement with Mr. Sunstrider or whatever he's called. It should prove one of the most enjoyable fights yet. Until then, I remain ferally yours...lawl

High Astromancer who?
Ya, she died after we got over trying to zerg her and used 2 arcane soak tanks. Good stuff, a shame this strat is going to be completely changed come 2.2. There was a little bit of chaos and mayhem at the end when one of the soak tanks died... and then a giant stack of wraths went around owning people while DPS burned down the voidwalker. Good times though, I foresee much, much, much smoother killing in the future. Stay tuned for news of Lady Vashj in the near future!

HQ Video: RA vs Al'ar the Phoenix God!
Al'ar is one of those encounters that (I hope) will never get old. The job of off-tanking the Embers is something I look forward to doing each week, as it can be both hectic and exciting at times. This week I remembered to Fraps our kill, which I'm glad I did because it ended up being one of our cleaner ones.
The video is full screen, high quality, and encoded with WMV9. Hopefully any new guilds out there looking to start work on this boss will find it useful.
Anyhoo, without further delay, if you're into the whole WoW-movies thing, then you can check out the video HERE!

Hi, Al'ar fell awhile back. RA now at 2/4 TK25 and 5/6 SSC and stuff.
Things have been progressing well in SSC and TK for Reckless Abandon. Over the past few weeks, we've managed to keep up the momentum and take down Leotheras and Hydross in SSC a few times (in addition to the usual LB/TW/FL kills) and Al'ar in TK25 a couple times as well. With Al'ar dead and the rest of SSC cleared, we began work on Vashj recently with the intent of taking her down then moving to Solarian and Kael. Fun stuff, stay tuned!

The Hour of Power
HELLFIRE PENNSULA, Outlands -- The guild known as Reckless Abandon downed the former leader of the Outlands known as Magtheridon. After three nights of attempts and a closet (which later Arjunna would admit coming out of) full of consumables they found success.
A couple of problems early on were soon fixed and the big beast fell. Good times were had by all. In the post-death celebration, raid leader Docanobear was quoted as saying, "This is the kind of success we can find when it all comes together."
After several wipes the guild drew together. Gluscus gave an inspirational speech. "Oh, RA. We have to keep going. Maybe we can't win. Maybe the only thing we can do is just take everything he's got. But to beat us, he's going to have to kill us. And to kill us, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of us. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that. I don't know."
Magtheridon - 9
Reckless Abandon - 1 (The only one that mattered)

Haha... so I apologize a lot has happened in the last month. I apologize for not updating the front page. It won't happen again. We downed Gruul. Here is the video. This is month old news.
In recruiting news we are currently looking for... 1 DPS Warrior (Arms) / Feral Druid, 1-2 Paladins, and 1 Mage. As always, if you have skills we can always find a place for you. Check out our forums for more information.

We Are Ready
With Blizzard’s launch of its first expansion, The Burning Crusade, Reckless Abandon has decided to usher in the second generation of World of Warcraft with a completely new website that will provide a myriad of features which go beyond the norm. The previous nine months have been one hell of a ride here at RA; we came in with the chance to make a fresh start and we took that chance and ran with it. From downing Nefarian, to wiping 14 times to Vael the next week, to the 12:30 AM Anub’rekhan kill (server 3rd), and, most importantly, to the return of Gunnm from his service in Iraq, this year has been full of ups and downs. In these next nine months and beyond we hope to surpass our own expectations once again and charge through the Dark Portal with a renewed determination. Our goal at RA over the course of the next year is three fold:
We hope to maintain and improve our course as one of the top raiding guilds on the Garona Server.
We wish to expand our reach into the server community and collaborate not only with other raiding guilds but also family/friend oriented, casual raiding guilds, and start up guilds.
We will also try and expand our presence in the PvP area of this game, however our focus will and always be centered on the end-game.
Finally, I’d like to thank some of the people we have lost over the course of the past year for their dedication to the guild and the good times that we’ve shared. To Bartuc, Sihlent, Elros, Maelyn, Karef, Sailina, Sakurachan, Docanobear, Tyria, Ocelius, Torchbs, and Clamdigga: you guys were some awesome people to game with and good luck to you in the future whether you decide to play in the expansion or not.
In spite of these losses, many of whom were integral to our success as a raiding guild, we have picked up some exceptional people of extremely high caliber. To Arcturos, Markbuzman, Evilmage, Meatloafs, Seabass, Demonhorror, Evulflea, Druidmuffy, Clotho, Lemming, Lilbarg, Galathil, Thorondil, Dirtygt, and countless others that I’m sure I’m forgetting: You guys have made some amazing differences in RA and have all been amazing additions to the guild.
Silverghost 01/15/2007 5:11 PM
Hey guild, it's come. A website that doesn't suck. Okay... it still kind of sucks. It's not super fancy, but then again... I'm not a programer. I'm just a designer. Expect a loving message from Silverghost pretty soon. Two days we'll be loading up on caffine and hitting the fields. I won't lie, I'm pretty excited.
